Staxus ExtrasBehind the scenesBlog On Set with Mark: Local farmer gets some attention on the set of Refugee By Staxus - Tommy - February 24, 2018 94 Twitter Google+ WhatsApp If you’re a bit of a geek like me (come on, I know there are some of you out there!) then you probably spend at least some time wondering about what goes on behind the scenes on STAXUS shoots. I wonder about everything from the way things go on the day to how they find locations and what the owners of houses and businesses think of what’s being filmed. I’ve actually learned quite a lot in my time writing about and enjoying the videos here. Guys like our friend Mark on set tell me little things here and there, so I get to find out little details that others probably don’t. A couple of days ago I found out about some of the things that went on with the new Refugee movie and I thought you guys might want to know about it too! So, you might already know that when it comes to sets and locations it can be hard to find the right place. There aren’t very many companies out there that lease properties for filming locations and the ones that allow adult movies to be filmed are even rarer. So when someone comes along with a property or two and they’re not worried about letting guys have sex there, a company like STAXUS goes back to them a lot. The new Refugee movie was shot at a country house, a very old location that’s owned by a businessman who also allowed STAXUS to shoot scenes in some other locations he’s owned over the years. Remember the gym we saw a couple of years ago or the outbuildings used in a movie last year? I think those were all possible because of the same businessman. The owner was there to show the crew around the place on the first day of filming for this one and he was apparently really impressed by all the costumes. They were unloading the van and hanging all the outfits the guys would be wearing and he was amazed by how elaborate it all was. It’s not just the viewers who like it when STAXUS gets really into it with the styling. See, I really am a geek when it comes to this stuff lol But he wasn’t the only one curious and impressed by the guys and their costumes. When they were filming the trailer for the movie, the scenes with them running through the trees and fighting and capturing the enemy, a local farmer pulled up to watch what was going on and started asking questions about it. The guys had to lie to him and told him a story about making a historical documentary! He was asking all kinds of things about what it was called and where he could see it. They had to tell him it was an American company and they didn’t know if it would even make it to TV, that it might be dropped by the production company. Mark is pretty sure the guy knew exactly what was going on and he was asking all those questions to try and catch them out. Not everyone wanted to go along with the story though, apparently the farmer was a very hot and muscled guy in his mid-20’s and a couple of the guys were wondering whether they should just tell him the truth, that maybe they could ask director John Smith if he could be invited to watch lol Of course he can’t do that, unfortunately. Who knows, though, maybe they’ll be back there to shoot some more and maybe next time they’ll have to tell that hot young farmer what they’re really doing there?! If you haven’t seen the videos in the series yet then why are you still here on the blog? Click through and hit play on one of them, they’re amazing and the boys and crew put so much effort into them too. Enjoy!
